Day 33 - Visualizing in Reading - Mrs. Kippenberger - Memorial School Grade 3

Today during our reading class, students continued to work on visualizing what they hear in a story in order to strengthen their comprehension skills.

I read the beginning of the story Cherries and Cherry Pits by Vera Williams. We talked with partners after each page about what we visioned each character to look like. On one particular page I had the students illustrate what they were visualizing. I read the page over a few times as students were illustrating.

These students are working on their illustrations while I am re-reading the passage from the book.

These pictures below are students final illustrations. All are examples of what the students visualized from the same passage of the book.
