Day 151 - What is Reverse Inclusion? - Deb Dressler, Memorial School Principal

Students are experiencing "reverse inclusion" at Memorial School. Reverse inclusion is a model of introducing typically developing students into the world of a special education classroom.  At Memorial we are fortunate to have three LABBB collaborative programs that support students with a variety of different learning styles. Ms. Beers and Mrs. Gonzalez work collaboratively to help bridge the two classrooms. Learning and sharing time together gives students an opportunity to become more familiar and comfortable with difference. Mrs. Gonzalez's fourth graders helped Ms. Beers students with their Flat Stanley projects and Ms. Beers students shared what makes their classroom special.  I look forward to sharing more positive experiences. I am so proud of the staff at Memorial for growing and learning as one community.
