Day 26 - Grade 3 Seesaw and Forces and Motion at Memorial - Paula Weldon - Memorial School Tech Integration

Grade 3 students at Memorial School have been busy with journal writing using Seesaw. Our third graders are busy working on their Forces and Motion unit with Mr. Musselman and we are writing reflections on what we are learning about this unit. This week the students did a hovercraft soccer ball activity with Mr. Musselman and today we wrote about what we had learned from this classroom experiment. Students were asked to write 3-4 sentences on what they had learned and they had to describe the activity and how this related to their unit of study. The students did very well working within the new SeeSaw app for the first time. They voted a thumbs up for the app. Teachers too!

Day 115 - Journal Writing in Grade 1 Implementing Google Docs - Mrs. Weldon - Memorial Instructional Technology

Mrs. Burnham’s first grade has been working on their writing journals in Google Docs.  This has been a great collaboration piece for her students.  Students have learned how to share their journals with Mrs. Burnham and their classmates.  They edit them together and make suggestions as a class as to how to improve their writing as well as celebrate their terrific writing as a class.  It has been a fun sharing time in Mrs. Burnham’s room.   This video is just a sample of all the wonderful writing going on at Memorial.

Day 107 - 3rd Grade Plays Name That State, City And Body Of Water - Mrs. Weldon - Memorial Instructional Technology

Memorial third grade students have been working on a mapping activity in Notability. Students have been playing a mapping game to locate cities, towns, bodies of water, bordering states and products that are all found in Massachusetts.  Students have been learning how to use the tools in Notability to create their map and share it with their teachers to tie into the social studies curriculum.  It has been a great introduction to using Notability in other areas of the curriculum.
