Day 2 - Teachers Teaching Teachers - Deb Dressler - Memorial School Principal

Last week, before students returned,
teachers were busy participating in professional development.

Three of the forty sessions offered at BPSCon
were led by five teachers from Memorial School!

Ms. Jacki McLaughlin led an informative session on integrating
social studies into nonfiction writing units.

Mrs. Guttenplan and Mrs. Moussa presented a dynamic session
on cultural diversity in our school community.

Mrs. Panagiotopoulos and Mrs. Burnham lead a creative session
on Restructuring Homework: Making homework more meaningful!

We are so fortunate to have such a talented group of educators at Memorial School!

Day 4 - Supporting Transgender Students - Mr. Mistler - BHS Art Dept.

This post originally appeared on Mr. Mistler's Blog

Thanks to BPSCon 2015, Burlington's three day pre-academic year professional development, I was able to present to colleagues how to support transgender students. Thanks to the success of the presentation and the support of many faculty members, I am posting the presentation for anyone that could not make it. Please ask me if you have any questions. Welcome back!

It was great to be a part of the 2015 BPS Conference. For the first time I presented at the conference and was impressed with the enthusiasm of my colleagues and willingness to participate in some art making!

I think many of them even wanted to stay and DRAW all day!
