Yesterday, Mrs. Fortunato, Burlington's district-wide math coach, visited Fox Hill to conduct a math lesson in Room 20. She taught the kids how best to approach the "Solve & Share" portion of Lesson 5-10, Math Practices & Problem Solving: Model with Math. The kids worked in groups to critically think about tackling the problem at hand, using the TIPS strategy (Think, Information, Plan, Solve).
Lively dialogue and student sharing were evident throughout the lesson. Here are some photos of the kids in action.
