We have begun brainstorming topics for our first writing assignment- narrative writing. Their writing piece will be based on an activity they experienced during the Camp Bournedale trip. To prepare for writing, students were given a copy of a mentor text that is a great example of narrative writing. After reading the piece, students worked with a partner to identify the elements of narrative writing: place and time, main event, sensory details, and feelings, emotions, reactions.
