All Fox Hill Grade 4 students are participating in a six-week program called "Bridges ~ Growing Together." Bridges is an intergenerational program for elementary school students and older adults living in our community. The goal of Bridges is to promote mutual respect, understanding, and friendship between people of different generations.
The six-week curriculum includes the following:
Lesson 1: Getting to know you
Lesson 2: Schools then and now
Lesson 3: Ethnicities, heirlooms, & traditions
Lesson 4: Lifelong teaching and learning
Lesson 5: How are you smart?
Lesson 6: How old is old?
Today, students and their senior volunteers met for Lesson 3 where participants shared their ethnicities, heirlooms, and family traditions with each other.
I took a few photos of our Room 20 students and their senior volunteers today as they discussed their "ethnicities, heirlooms, & traditions."
