Today, Mr. Afshar visited our classroom to share his immigration story. What a great way to connect what we are learning about in school to our own lives and the world around us. Students listened as Mr. Afshar shared the story of his family's move from Iran to the United States when he was 9 years old, discussing some of the challenges he faced as a immigrant but also some of the important lessons he learned along the way. Students asked powerful, insightful questions to understand what the experience was like.
A big takeaway: BE REMEMBERED FOR BEING NICE.
Thanks so much for sharing your story with us, Mr. Afshar.
