Students in ELA are enjoying our culminating activity of make life-size Brians. Brian is the main character in the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. We have been discussing how Brian changed both emotionally and physically before and after the accident. Students created top-down topic webs and are now creating their before and after Brians!

If you had to choose important items to take on a trip, what would they be? 

Before starting the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, the class brainstormed what items they would take on a trip. Then they got into groups to discuss and share their ideas. Some items included- epi-pen, water, hair brush, electronics, food, first aid kit, pocket knife, pillow, dog, and tent!
