The Pine Glen community has taken an active roll in making sure that all are accepted. We are an inclusionary school where all are welcome. We have been focusing on many attributes that help improve interpersonal relationships and help with the social and emotional health of the members of our school community. Some of these month-long themes have been empathy, respect and kindness. As an end of the year collaborative project. Mrs. Tilton our guidance counselor and Miss Fallon our art teacher have introduced all students to Pine Glen's River of Kindness which will be displayed out front. All staff and students K-5 will paint a rock like a fish and have it displayed outside. Yesterday Mrs. Tilton came to our room and read the book "Only One You" by Linda Kranz. The students then planned for how they would paint their fish in an illustration and journal page. This afternoon we went down to the art room and Miss Fallon guided us through part of the process of creating the rockfish and then the students used their plans to paint their fish. Everyone enjoyed this experience. Thank you to the PTO who funded this project. We are all looking forward to seeing the completed River of Kindness.
