Day 23 - Collaborative Rainbow Peace Flag Project at BHS

This post first appeared on the BPS EdTech Blog

Poetic Ramblings, BHS’s Poetry and Culture Club, and Spectrum, BHS’s LGBTQ+ Club partnered to create a Rainbow Peace Flag Project intended to promote a positive sense of community at our school. Simultaneously celebrating diversity and acknowledging human connection, the rainbow peace flag symbolizes inclusiveness and represents peaceful dialogue over violence.
During today’s common planning period, teachers and students worked together in the library to design rainbow peace flags for classrooms and shared spaces in the building. Enjoying music, food, and excellent interdepartmental collaboration, the groups worked jointly to send a message of peace and pride. Both clubs look forward to more joint activities in the future.

Interested in creating your own community building or classroom projects? The Cricut machine used to create the “PEACE” lettering is available for use in the school’s Makerspace, located in the back of the library. With this versatile tool, the possibilities are endless.
